Master Thesis Seminar

If you are interested in writing an empirical master thesis at our chair, please contact us with a short synopsis of your proposed topic, consisting of:

  • the underlying research question
  • potential data sources, complemented by information on data acquisition and data accessibility (timeline),
  • the fundamental methodological approach (definition and measurement of the dependent and (main) explanatory variables, potential estimation methods),
  • sample introductory literature (in particular, pertinent/seminal empirical studies)

Prerequisite for the supervision of your empirical master thesis by our chair are skills in quantitative economics and statistics. Participation in the courses “Econometrics” and “Evidence-Based Policy Analysis” is recommended.
