Research

Theoretical and applied macroeconomics; in particular

  • game-theoretical modeling of national and international monetary and 
  • fiscal policy coordination, and macroeconomic models of transition economies

Prof. Schwödiauer´s scientific interest fields are widely diversified and obliged to a conception of unity of Economic and Management Sciences on a methological-individualistic fundament. His publications span over the fields game theory, general economic equilibrium theory, environmental economics, population economics and personal income distribution, and the strategically interaction of monetary and fiscal policy. In recent years he also engaged in problems of economic reforms within Eastern-European Transition Countries in detail. For Schwödiauer the history of economic theory not only as object of research but especially also within academic teaching is of particular concern.
